iPad launch figures released by Apple
300,000 iPads.
250,000 iBooks.
1,000,000 apps downloaded.
These are the figures for 3rd April, the 300,000 figure includes pre-orders delivered to users and sales made at Apple stores and partners.
“It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world—it’s going to
be a game changer. iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.”Steve Jobs.
Many had expected more, some sources claiming 700,000 iPads sold, but with many iPad orders not expected to ship until 12th April I think the figure would of been higher had Apple not had any supply issues.
