UK iPad Launch date
As we approach the US launch of the iPad there’s still little news for anywhere else in the world including the UK. The official Apple standpoint is the very wooly “Late April” date.
In Canada Apple store staff have been advised that no Holiday will be allowed on 24th April, this has lead to speculation that Canada and possibly the UK will have the iPad released on this day. Sources at UK Apple stores remain tight lipped with regard to that date, so currently nothing concrete to go on.
UK iPad Price
Which leads us to the UK price. Again Apple have not released details of any none US prices at all, leaving us all guessing. Below is the past year of GBP-USD trading rates, which has seen some heavy movements. Currently your GBP is worth considerably less against the USD than it did 6 months ago.
So, what are our best estimates regarding the UK iPad price? Taking a look at a number of Apple products currently for sale is probably the nearest we will currently get.

Time Capsule 2 TB UK – £388 (With VAT)
14% Difference in price.
Mac Mini US – $599 (£398) (No Sales Tax)
Mac Mini UK – £510 (With VAT)
21% Difference in price.
MacBook US – $999 (£665) (No Sales Tax)
MacBook UK – £816 (With VAT)
18% Difference in price.
Taking the average of around 18% gives us a 16GB WiFi iPad at approx £400. Maybe the UK store will look something like this later this month?
