iPad folio flip case review

Posted by in iPad accessories

Here’s my latest review of a new iPad case thats available now in the UK and Im happy to report it’s much better than the first case I reviewed a few weeks ago.

The iPad Flip case from MobileFun.co.uk is a classic leather style folio to protect your iPad, you will notice straight away the review unit I have is very purple which to me is a little bright to take into any business meetings however my Girlfriend absolutely loved the colour. If you want something more demure the iPad Flip case comes in Black, White, Blue and also Red and Pink if want to stand out from the crowd a little more.

Case Build and Design.

The case is made from a synthetic leather which feels sturdy and durable. The quality of the stitching is of a very high quality, very tidy with no strands of thread being left anywhere.

Your iPad slides smoothly down from the top of the case, it’s a very nice fit not too lose and not too tight… ie a great fit! The iPad does not force the case sides to bulge when inserted so everything looks nice a tidy.

The case lining is made from a soft microsuede material, which is nicely colour coordinated on all of the case colour range. It’s soft and luxurious and helps  add to the overall quality of the product. The case cover also contains a small elasticated pocket with space to hold 3 business / bank cards and also the ability to slide a small piece of paper behind cards. It’s not something I will be using daily but I can see a time when I would use to transport a few business cards and maybe store a few receipts until I got home.

The locking clasp is fitted well and gives a nice magnetic double snap when pushed into position.

Port – Controls – Headphone

The docking port is nicely protected when the case is locked and the case does not obstruct it so it’s possible to charge the iPad whilst in the case.

The rotations lock and volume buttons and also very accessible with the case allowing full access.

There is a slight issue with the headphones port and power button however. When the case is closed the power button is protected to stop any accidental power on’s when being transported, but also the headphone jack is covered, you cannot close the case if you use headphones like the ones supplied by Apple. (The white ones with a straight 3.5mm Jack)

I did try with a set of headphones that have a 90 degree jack which worked, however it did stretch the case a little.

Conclusion.

The MobileFun.co.uk Flip case offers great value for money whilst retaining a quality impression. The overall feel of the materials especially of the microsuede is very good, the case fits your iPad perfectly. The only downside is the access to the headphone jack when the case is closed. Personally I do not use my iPad as an iPod player in a bag so it’s not an issue for me, however if you do plan on using the iPad like this make sure your headphones have a 90 degree connection!
