5-in-1 Kids Pack HD review
Children and the iPad, it’s a frightening combination! An expensive device in such small hands is enough to worry even the bravest of geeks out there, but as much as you’d prefer not to you can’t resist the temptation to pass the iPad to them and watch them as they explore the iPad with almost ‘Jobs’ like instinct.
This bank holiday weekend we had 2 small creatures around to visit Charlotte (5) and Elizabeth (4) in no time they were swiping around the screen, looking at photo’s, starting applications and almost deleting applications!
A few days previous Bacciz LLC had sent me a review code for their 5-in-1 Kids Pack HD iPad application, which I intended to put through it’s paces this week, but with the arrival of the grandchildren I had the perfect opportunity to get a ‘real’ review from the 2 of them, pictured below are the 2 of them getting some tuition.

First up was the Match game, a simple card matching game. You can select the difficulty (Number of cards) at the start and also the card faces. These range from Animals, shapes, Alphabet and numbers. Nice touches include a voice that announces what you’ve selected, so your child is stimulated both visually and auditory.

Next game was Tap. This game shows a grid of 4 or 6 items, the iPad then requests what you need to press. Again you have a number of modes – Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes and Animals (by name or sound which the kids found very amusing!)

The next game was Mystery which is a 2 Player game of Match where you take turns passing the iPad after each persons go, thankfully having an iPads each meant we never had to try the 2 Player game!
The final game was Timed, which is again the Mystery game but against the clock.

One thing we didn’t try with the children is the ability to select different languages in the options, you can configure it to pronounce capital letters in English and small letters in another language. There are 6 languages English, German, French, Spanish Japanese and Chinese, all professional recorded. This seemed a little too advanced for our 2 test subjects!
Conclusion.
The kids loved the games! Within a few minutes of tuition they were both happily playing on their own, smiling at the sounds and showing us when they completed a game.
I was impressed by the professional presentation, music, graphics and the sounds. The games whilst simple are huge fun for the children. At £0.59 it represents great value for money to keep the children happy. Compared to a childs magazine that costs 5 times the price this game seems even better value.
