We’ve also released a new update to The Sun’s hugely successful iPad app, which allows users to listen their music while reading the paper.

It means that if you’re already enjoying your favourite tunes via the pad, you can now open The Sun app without having to shut down your iPod functionality.

The compatibility feature comes after The Sun conducted a comprehensive survey of our iPad subscribers, who asked for the improvement to be included in our next update.

“We think the best way to keep enhancing The Sun’s iPad app is to listen to our readers,” said Gary Thompson, The Sun’s Associate Editor (Digital).

“Lots of readers sent us emails saying they love the app, but added that they want to be able to enjoy The Sun while listening to music in the background.

“We’re happy to oblige. This update also improves the overall performance of the app.”

The new app features improved connectivity and enhanced page-turning.

The previous start-up animation has been replaced by a speedier graphic sequence, which features a new Sun logo.

The new app is available via a free update to current subscribers (provided your subscription is still active).
